Comparisons of results from the MBA and HPLC-FLD methods have shown good correlation, except for oysters.Because of its higher detection capacity, it has provided an earlier warning of shellfish toxicity. This method has successfully replaced the MBA in regulatory testing in the UK and other countries since 2006.Per Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1980, the method was adopted as the EU’s reference method on 1 January 2019. ![]()
